Description
This introductory course addresses WebSphere 6.1 & 7.0 administration concepts. Students will do a base install of WebSphere Application Server 6.1 and then explore the environment and architecture. This course will emphasize the importance of understanding the WAS architecture in order to successfully support, troubleshoot and tune any product that relies on the WebSphere Application Server infrastructure. Students will be exposed to deployment topologies, best practices and routine maintenance tools. This course is not a replacement for the five day WAS Administration course. It is designed as a WebSphere orientation course allowing participants to understand the hardware, software and skills required to manage a WebSphere production environment.
Audience
This is a course for administrators who will be responsible for installing and/or maintaining a WebSphere Application Server V6.1 or V7 environment. Developers involved with deploying custom applications and managers overseeing WebSphere projects will also find value to the content. Familiarity with server administration techniques is preferred but not required.
